DOUBLE MONOCHROMATOR WITH UV-TRANSMITTING QUARTZ GLASS PRISMS

All prisms of the monochromator have a shape of an off-axis fragment of an aplanatic meniscus. Therefore, no collimators are required. Very good transmition properties are achieved for a large monochromator aperture. The optical system of the double monochromator is designed for parallel beams at the entrance and exit of the monochromator case. The focusing lenses of the entrance and exit slits are shifted when changing the radiation wavelengh. This enables to correct the chromatic aberration of the lenses.

Double monochromator parameters:
case size: 13 x 13 x 43 cm

cross-section of the parallel entrance and exit beam: 1"(25,4 mm)
transmission of the optical system : T= 0,7
relative aperture of the optical system: f / 2,75
